Rachel is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who recently joined our practice to help assist with the high demand for the services provided by Brooke and Ashleigh, Ballantyne Medical Associates current psychotherapist and psychiatric nurse practitioner. Rachel earned a Master's Degree in Social Work from Marywood University in Pennsylvania and is actively licensed in 5 states including North Carolina. Rachel has worked for over ten years in numerous healthcare settings, where she gained extensive knowledge of community resources and experience in counseling patients and their families on acute and chronic illnesses, terminal illnesses, grief/bereavement, transplant candidacy, major life changes/transitions, cancer diagnoses, and survivorship, and postpartum changes. She is passionate about helping her clients gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and helping her clients realize and reach their full potential. Rachel realizes that the need for her service has never been higher than it is now and she, along with Ballantyne Medical Associates, is focused on doing all we can to address this National Mental Health Crisis which has escalated since the COVID pandemic.
